Welcome!

And thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learn about St. Gregory Episcopal School.  Located in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood, we are a boys' school providing an excellent education in a Christian context to students whose academic potential might otherwise go unfulfilled.  Our goal is to provide the academic foundation needed for success in college-prep high schools and college and the formation of the spiritual lives of our students that encourages a life of faith.  The education at St. Gregory's is tuition-free and entirely dependent on upon private support.  We receive no city, county or state educational funds.

I am excited to be stepping into the role of principal this year at St. Gregory's and excited to share with you many exciting changes including:

  • The addition of a third Upper-School teacher to focus on Science and Social Studies
  • Teacher salaries increased to attract and retain experienced, qualified instructors
  • Investment in a new Math curriculum for the Kindergarten through Fourth Grades
  • The addition of a Math tutor and Gym teacher (a former student!)
  • The extension of our academic day by 30 minutes (adding over 5,000 minutes a year!)
  • The addition of Religious Education, critical thinking skills and Creative Writing into the Upper-School curriculum
  • The addition of an Academic Counselor as well as a Social Worker
  • The school has been repainted, refurbished and reconfigured to better serve the students

I invite you to look through the website, familiarize yourself with our mission and philosophy and consider how you might get involved in the important work being done in our classrooms everyday!

Yours, in Christ,

Fr. Kenneth L. Erickson
